IRCTC launches 02 Jyotirlinga with Dakshin Darshan Yatra package starting at ₹20,000

The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a new spiritual travel package 02 Jyotirlinga with Dakshin Darshan Yatra offering devotees a chance to explore some of South India’s most revered temples.

This 10-night, 11-day pilgrimage aboard the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train will start on 25 November 2025 from Indore, covering key destinations such as Tirupati, Rameshwaram (Jyotirlinga), Madurai, Kanyakumari, and Srisailam (Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga).

Dakshin Darshan Yatra Package Details

The train, part of the Indian Railways’ Dekho Apna Desh initiative, offers three categories of accommodation:

  • Economy Class (SL)- ₹20,000 per person
  • Standard Class (3AC)- ₹32,800 per person
  • Comfort Class (2AC)- ₹43,300 per person

Passengers can board from Indore, Ujjain, Shujalpur, Sehore, Rani Kamlapati, Itarsi, Betul, and Nagpur, as per the official IRCTC website.

Pilgrimage Highlights

Tirupati (Andhra Pradesh): The journey begins with darshan at Tirupati Balaji Temple, one of India’s most visited pilgrimage sites, followed by a visit to Padmavati Temple.

Rameshwaram: Known for the Ramanathaswamy Temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, Rameshwaram offers deep spiritual significance and scenic views of the Pamban Bridge.

Madurai: Pilgrims will visit the historic Meenakshi Amman Temple, an architectural marvel dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarar.

Kanyakumari: The southernmost tip of mainland India, where the Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean converge. Key attractions include Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Gandhi Mandapam, and Kanyakumari Temple.

Srisailam: The final stop features darshan at the Mallikarjuna Jyotirlinga, nestled in the Nallamala Hills a sacred site symbolizing the union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
